Last August 29, 2015, a bloodletting activity was held at the Provincial Cooperative Union Building in Barangay Magdum, Tagum City, Davao del Norte. This was sponsored by and participated in by employees of EEI Power Corporation in support of the barangay's regular community activities.
Last June 27, 2015, 50 EEI employees participated in the YGC-PGH Bloodletting Program "Dugo Mo, Buhay Ko" held at the EEI head office. This was for the benefit of the pediatric cancer patients of the Philippine General Hospital.
At the EEI Headquarters, the EEI Clinic, together with the Philippine National Red Cross, held the annual bloodletting program last June 27, 2014. 75 employees participated in the activity.
EEI Therma South Project Management Team, Leighton Contractors Philippines, Inc., Black and Veacth, and Philippine Red Cross conducted a Blood Donation Activity last February 24, 2014. 64 volunteers supported the campaign and donated blood at the Black and Veacth clinic.
Last July 3, 2013, the provincial government, through its Provincial Health Office, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Agusan Chapter, conducted a bloodletting activity at the Philsaga Mining Corporation Mill Clinic. The activity aimed to contribute to the blood supply for victims of accidents and the rising number of patients affected with dengue.
Among the 61 donors who participated, 41 were EEI employees.
In the same month, EEI Corporation and Philippine National Red Cross held their annual bloodletting activity at the EEI homebase. 65 employees donated blood.
The EEI Steel Fabrication Division, together with the Batangas government offices and medical clinics, held their third medical and dental mission last November 2012. Two hundred individuals from Barangay Bolo and Sta. Maria in Bauan, Batangas were assisted with health care services, including check-up, ECG, blood screening, dental services, and provision of medicines.
Another Blood Letting Activity was organized by EEI together with the Philippine National Red Cross last February 23, 2012.
A total of 55 employees donated blood.
EEI Corporation together with the Barangay Bagumbayan Council conducted the Oplan "Binata", a free circumcision service for the Barangay Bagumbayan children last May 28, 2011 at the Barangay Bagumbayan Health Center. A total of 51 boys were circumcised and free medicines were provided by the company to facilitate the healing of the newly circumcised children. This activity is one of the Stewardship and Community Building Programs planned for the year-long celebration of EEI's 80th Anniversary.
The program was directed by a team of doctors, headed by EEI Company Physician Dr. Earl Edward Dimamay, in partnership with Brgy. Chairman Dr. Elmer Maturan, Drs. Jeffrey Roxas, Nezzer Soriano, Elizear Taplac, Barbara Eden Mabanto, Neil Semilla, and Ariel Paredes. The project was also successfully carried out with the support of the EEI Officers and volunteer employees.
EEI conducted another medical and dental mission for the residents of Barangay Bolo and Barangay Sta.Maria in Batangas. This mi ssion, the second that EEI conducted for this community, took place last July 24, 2010 at EEI Annex Mess Hall at Barangay Bolo, Bauan, Batangas.
Approximately 80 medical and dental professionals and volunteer nurses from various groups and organizations such as Clinika Med Laboratory and Diagnostic Test, Taal Polymedic Hospital and Medical Center, St. Patrick Hospital and Medical Center, SPCare, GENERIKA Drug Store, Municipal Health Office, Philippine National Police, Bauan Medical Society, Batangas Provincial Health Office, and the Office of the Governor participated in this noble activity.
The team offered free medical consultation and was able to cater to almost 300 residents from the two barangays. Patients were given free medicines donated by EEI and the Provincial Health Office through the initative of Governor Vilma Santos-Recto.
This event was also graced by representatives from the Office of the Mayor, Hon. Kelvin Rex D. Gimeno and Hon. Jerome Bantugon Monilla of Sangguniang Bayan, Police Chief Inspector Luisito Cailon Sanchez and members of the Philippine National Police, Barangay Captain of Bolo, Hon. Josephine Gimeno, Barangay Captain of Sta. Maria, Hon. Jose Resty Agena, Barangay Health Workers (BHW), VP for Operations Leon J. Cruz, AVP for Operation Raul Gilbert J. Dela Cruz, VP for Human Resources Divina F. Munji, and Group Supervisor for Human Resource Ireneo C. Roberto.
After the successful program, certificates of appreciation and limited edition mugs were awarded to the volunteers by AVP for Operations Mr. Raul Gilbert J. Dela Cruz and VP for Human Resources Ms. Divina F. Munji. "We thank all the volunteers, medical professionals, and government officials for making this event a success. Without them, this would not have been possible," Mr. Dela Cruz said.
It is EEI's intention to make the medical mission an annual event, to be done every 2nd quarter of the year.
